That Weird Mildew Smell

Things to avoid at 282storage.com - I've made the mistake of storing clothes in a plastic bin and leaving it in a unit for a year or two before. When I opened that bin, it had the most horrid scent of mildew. After countless washes with vinegar trying to get rid of the smell.. I opted to needing to toss everything out. Something I have found that helps, (when packing anything fabric related or collectors related) pack those items that are suspectable to humidity with silica packets. This will help draw the moisture away from your items and prevent that terrible smell. In addition, put a few dryer sheets into the boxes. The dryer sheets are a personal preference. When storing items, it's never a bad idea to take an extra step in ensuring the protection, quality, and condition of them.
